A rating only means something if every game behind it was earned honestly. That's why fair play is built into the core of XiangqiPlay — not bolted on as an afterthought.
We combine statistical analysis, behavioural signals, and careful human review to keep cheating out, while protecting honest players from false accusations. We'd rather investigate thoroughly than act hastily.

How detection works
A layered system that combines machine analysis with human judgement.
Engine correlation
We compare moves against multiple Xiangqi engines across millions of positions to flag play that's statistically too perfect to be human.
Behavioural signals
Timing patterns, mouse movement, and tab activity reveal when a player may be relying on outside assistance during a game.
Human review
Flagged accounts are reviewed by our integrity team — never by an algorithm alone — before any action is taken.
Account security
We detect shared accounts, sandbagging, and rating manipulation to keep matchmaking fair for everyone.
How to report a player
Spotted something suspicious? Reporting takes seconds and is always confidential.
Open the game or profile
Navigate to the game in question or the player's profile page.
Click report
Use the report button and choose a reason — cheating, abuse, or sandbagging.
Add context
Tell us what you noticed. The more detail you share, the faster we can investigate.

Our team reviews every report confidentially and follows up where appropriate.
Consequences for cheating
Sanctions are proportionate to the violation. We always investigate before we act.
Warning
A first, minor infraction may result in a private warning and guidance on the rules.
Rating reset
Confirmed manipulation leads to corrected ratings and removal of affected results.
Suspension
Serious or repeated violations result in temporary suspension of your account.
Permanent ban
Egregious or repeated cheating results in permanent closure of the account.
The right to appeal
We know mistakes can happen, and we take them seriously. If you believe an action against your account was made in error, you can appeal directly to our integrity team. Every appeal is reviewed by a real person, independently of the original decision, and we'll always explain our reasoning.
